Residents enjoying singing.
We sang our hearts out!
This month we enjoyed Karaoke more than ever, we just could not get enough. We sang all the greatest hits from the Beatles to Abba, Neil Diamand to Kylie Minogue, and plenty of Led Zepplin.
Danny was the star of the show each week, giving us all a front row seat in his energetic and emotional performances. We made sure he did his favourite song Roar by Katy Perry.
Enjoying the arcade and winning prizes.
THE SCOOP OF THE MONTH
We went out in the sun as much as we could this month. Even though there was still a cold breeze about, we spent plenty of time down at the sea front in Paignton eating ice cream and meeting dogs.
A few of us had some time to spare and went out for shopping trips to the Range or into Paignton town trying to find treasure in the charity shops.
Hard at work putting all the desks and units together.
FANTASTIC NEW OFFICE
This month was full of changes to the home. After a whole load of new furniture, a fresh coat of paint on the walls and a couple of plants to bring the office together, we were back to work in no time.
COUNT YOUR STEPS
We got in a bit of exercise this month after meeting our new exercise coach Jordan. He held two sessions this month and started with flying colours, getting people involved and moving their bodies. We will be ready for the Olympics before you know it.
Beanbag games helped us sneak in a bit more exercise getting us up, using our arms and throwing them at the targets. Some people have better aim than others, of course, so if you do not want to get hit then stay clear of the splash zone.
Competing for first place beanbag thrower.
THE GRAND NATIONAL
This month we had the Grand National sweep stake in which a lucky few got the cash prize for their winning horse. The winning horse in first place was claimed by Corach Rambler ridden by D. Fox, Vanillier ridden by S. Flanagan came in second and thrid went to Gaillard Du Mesnil with P. Townend on his back.
MEET THE NEW STAFF
Leo has joined us as our new Activity Coordinator and has fit in well with the team and all the residents. They will be planning the big events and the small, from Summer Fetes to Bingo afternoons. So, if there is anything the residents could get involved with, Leo will be the one to help.
