December is a special time at Oldway Heights, as residents were treated to a delightful array of festive activities and events. From heartwarming musical performances to creative crafts and joyful celebrations, the Christmas period was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
RESIDENTS TAKE DELIGHT IN CRAFTING BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY WREATHS
Throughout the month, residents enjoyed delightful shopping trips, enchanting musical performances by talented saxophonists, singers, guitarists, and a talented harpist. The harpist went from room to room, bringing the joy of music to those who were unable to join the communal activities.
Movie nights were a hit as residents gathered for screenings of beloved Christmas films, accompanied by the aroma of freshly popped popcorn. The creative spirit was alive as residents crafted their own Christmas cards and participated in an exciting elf scavenger hunt.
A festive highlight was the wreath-making festival morning, where residents adorned beautiful wreaths and proudly displayed them on their doors. The home was filled with the uplifting sound of Christmas carols, as residents and staff joined in joyful song with local schools and church volunteers.

DISNEY GALA DELIGHTS
The holiday traditions continued with the annual Christmas bingo, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air. Residents also had the opportunity to experience the warmth and aroma of the season by making mince pies and enjoying mulled wine.
The pinnacle of the holiday festivities was the enchanting gala dinner, with a magical Disney theme. Staff transformed into beloved Disney characters, and meals were served in homage to cherished Disney movies. The evening was filled with joy, laughter, and a touch of Disney magic.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
The spirit of togetherness and celebration was truly embodied in the residents’ Christmas party, featuring engaging quizzes, fun games, and even a lively donut-eating contest followed by a talented musician playing out all the popular winter hits. The month was a testament to the warmth and joy that fills Oldway Heights during the Christmas period.
Adding to the Christmas spirit, residents embarked on delightful outings to the pantomime, enjoying the timeless tale of “Beauty and the Beast” and partaking in evening bus trips to witness the dazzling Christmas lights in the Torbay area.
CHRISTMAS DAY & BID FAREWELL TO 2023
Christmas day was a day to remember, filled with the joy of giving and receiving presents, savoring delectable food and drinks, and sharing in the spirit of festive fun.
