In January 2023, Oldway Heights care was abuzz with exciting activities. Renowned singer Alison treated our residents to a delightful nostalgia trip with her renditions of beloved 70s and 80s music, inspiring everyone to join in and dance together. Our residents also enjoyed numerous pub lunches, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Additionally, Animal HQ brought joy and warmth as our residents enjoyed cuddling adorable furry companions, including dogs, guinea pigs, a chinchilla, and even a leopard gecko. The soothing melodies of a talented saxophonist filled the air, serenading our residents with beautiful tunes.

Artistic expression was also thriving at Oldway Heights, as some of our residents created remarkable sculptures, including a bear, guinea pigs, and a lion. Furthermore, Bert the guitarist brought a wave of enjoyment, engaging everyone with hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and encouraging sing-alongs.

To add a creative flair, we organised an art competition that showcased the talents of our residents. Their exceptional works were recognised with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. It was truly a vibrant and inspiring month for our residents.

We are excited to announce a new addition to our menu at Oldway Heights care. In an effort to promote health and sustainability, we have introduced a meat-free day once a week. This trial initiative aligns with our commitment to providing diverse and nutritious meal options for our residents. We hope this change will not only offer a delicious culinary experience but also emphasise the importance of incorporating plant-based meals into our diet. We look forward to your feedback and are eager to continue exploring ways to enhance our dining experience.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to share that Oldway Heights care is embarking on an exciting journey of refurbishment. Our team is dedicated to enhancing the living experience for all our residents, and we have big plans for the year. From revitalising communal spaces to implementing modern amenities, our goal is to create an environment that fosters comfort, joy, and a true sense of community.
