We would like to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic activities that have brought joy and connection to our community this month. Here’s a recap of the events our residents participated in:

Halloween Celebration:
Our Halloween celebration at Oldway Heights was a spooktacular success! Residents enjoyed an day full of ghoulish fun, with everyone getting into the spirit by wearing creative costumes and getting their faces painted. The day was filled with pumpkin carving, eerie-themed games, and a delicious feast. It was a wonderful opportunity for residents to engage in and create lasting memories. We look forward to more fun-filled celebrations like this in the future!

Bonfire Night:
Bonfire Night at Oldway Heights was a brilliant event filled with warmth and cheer! Residents gathered to enjoy the spectacular display of fireworks, followed by cozying up with hot chocolate, delicious treats and sparklers. The evening was complete with plenty of conversation and laughter. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and spend time together.

Pub Lunches:
Our regular pub lunches are always a highlight for our residents. These trips offer a chance to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxing restaurant. Whether it’s a hearty Sunday roast or a light lunch, our pub visits are always filled with good food, good company, and a lot of laughter.

Animal HQ:
Animal HQ visits continue to bring joy to our residents as they interact with a variety of wonderful animals. From gentle rabbits to playful birds, our residents have the chance to connect with these furry and feathered friends in a fun, educational way. These visits provide a soothing hour where we can cuddle and relax.

Cheryl the Singer:
Cheryl the Singer always brings energy and joy to our residents with her lively performances. Her beautiful voice and selection of classic songs get everyone singing along and tapping their feet. From old favourites to modern tunes, Cheryl’s music creates a warm, upbeat atmosphere and provides a delightful way for our residents to engage with the rhythm of the season.

Remembrance Day:
On Remembrance Day, we took time to honour and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in the armed forces. Residents participated in a quiet ceremony, observing a two minute of silence at 11am followed by creating our own poppies. It was a meaningful day of reflection and respect, as we came together to commemorate the heroes of the past.

World Kindness Day:
World Kindness Day was a heartwarming occasion at Oldway Heights. Residents shared simple notes of kindness, spreading joy and positivity throughout the day to each other and to staff. Any day we make someone else smile is a great day and it was a wonderful reminder of the power of kindness and the difference it can make in our lives.

Chrissie the Singer:
Chrissie the Singer returned to Oldway Heights for another memorable performance, filling the space with music and joy. Her voice captivated our residents, taking them on a musical journey through different decades. It was a delightful afternoon, with residents singing along to their favourite tunes and thinking about their special moments tied to the songs.

Christmas Decorating:
The holiday season is slowly being ushered in to Oldway Heights, and our Christmas decorations are truly bringing the festive spirit to life. From sparkling lights to beautifully decorated trees, every corner of the home is filled with holiday cheer. Some residents joined in the decorating while others sang beautiful Christmas songs.

National Carer Day:
National Carer Day gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate and thank the incredible staff who provide care and support to our residents. We took time to honour their dedication, compassion, and hard work. To celebrate the day, we worked together to create a wonderful banner filled with sweet, thankful notes to all of our fantastic carers and gave each carer their own little bag of sweets as a thank you!

Shopping Trips:
Our shopping trips are always a fun outing for residents, offering a chance to browse local stores and buy themselves something new. Whether it’s for Christmas shopping or simply to pick up a few essentials, these trips are a great way for residents to get out and spoil themselves all while enjoying the company of friends and staff.

Bert the Guitarist:
Bert the Guitarist always brings a smile to our residents’ faces with his charming performances. With his guitar in hand, he plays a variety of familiar songs that have our residents singing along and reminiscing. While singing he always adds an extra spin on the songs which fills the room with laughs and cheer. Berts visits are always met with excitement and joy from everyone!
