We would like to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic festive activities that have brought joy and connection to our community this month. Here’s a recap of the events our residents participated in:
Exotic Animals:
Always a fascinating experience, Animal Encounters visited us again which allowed residents to meet and interact with a range of unique creatures. From reptiles to birds, the morning was a hands-on opportunity to learn about and appreciate the diversity of wildlife from around the world.
Cocktail and Mocktail Making:
In this exciting afternoon, residents learned the art of creating delicious cocktails and mocktails. With guidance and assistance from Ashley and Ben, they mixed up a variety of drinks, and greatly enjoyed drinking them!
Countdown to Christmas Show:
The Countdown to Christmas Show was a festive extravaganza, featuring a live performance, music, and a cheerful atmosphere. It brought the holiday spirit alive, setting the scene for the joyous countdown to Christmas Day.
Preston Primary Visited:
Students from Preston Primary School visited for a memorable morning filled with singing and laughs. Residents and children alike all enjoyed their mince pies, chocolates and drinks! Everyone loves to sing along with the adorable children, always bringing a smile to our faces.
Louise the Saxophonist:
Louise the Saxophonist brought a touch of elegance with her soulful saxophone performances. Her music filled the air with soothing melodies, offering a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all who attended.
Luke the Harpist:
Luke the Harpist enchanted everyone with his beautiful harp music, creating a peaceful ambiance. His melodic tunes transported listeners to another world, perfect for unwinding and enjoying an afternoon of calm and serenity.
Gala Dinner:
Our Gala Dinner was an elegant evening featuring fine dining, friends and family all coming together, and lots of drinks. With the theme this year being Prom Night, guests dressed to impress in beautiful sparkling dresses and suits as they enjoyed gourmet meals, great company, and a night of celebration. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a live concert by the incredible Imogen, her voice and talent enchanted everyone and brought Christmas joy to us all.
Make A Star For A Loved One:
This heartwarming activity invited residents to write personalized stars, each representing a special loved one. We made a collection on the wall, it was very moving to see all the love that people share for people passed and with us.
Shopping Trips:
Our shopping trips offered a delightful escape, allowing residents to explore local stores. Picking up Christmas gifts and treats for themselves. It was a great opportunity for a leisurely time out and some one on one time.
Carol Singers:
The Carol Singers brought festive cheer with their harmonious renditions of classic holiday carols. Their joyful voices filled the air, spreading Christmas spirit and reminding everyone of the magic of the season.
Jack and the Beanstalk Panto:
The Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime was a fun-filled, family-friendly performance, complete with slapstick humour, catchy songs, and plenty of audience participation. It was a classic holiday treat that left everyone laughing and entertained.
Wreath Making:
The Live Wreath Making workshop offered a creative opportunity to design their own holiday wreaths, we sang Christmas carols throughout bringing cheer to everyone around. Using seasonal foliage, glittering flowers, and ribbons, residents crafted beautiful pieces to hang on their doors.
Art Class:
The Art Class, hosted by Emma, provided a space for creativity, where residents could explore different mediums and techniques. Emma taught them how to create a beautiful sky and sea scene from start to finish. The creative process was messy but they all had so much fun learning what brushes to use and exploring pallet knives techniques. We cannot wait to see their creativity and talent grow throughout the year.
Brass Band:
The Brass Band played an energetic and lively performance, filling the space with the bold sounds of brass instruments. Their music created a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for uplifting spirits and adding to the festive celebrations.
Christmas Sensory Game:
The Christmas Sensory Game was a fun and interactive activity that engaged residents in a multi-sensory experience. With festive smells, textures, and tastes they all guessed what it is and we had so much fun seeing the way that removing some of your senses makes it so much harder to guess!
Christmas Day:
Christmas Day was a heartwarming celebration filled with festive cheer, gifts, delicious food, and shared moments of joy. It was a special day to reflect on the year and cherish the company of our residents and caring staff.
Spa Day:
The Spa Day provided relaxation and rejuvenation, residents were offered soothing treatments designed to help them unwind. Head and hand massages, facials, or manicures, it was a day of pure indulgence and self-care.
New Year’s Party:
The New Year’s Party, organised and hosted by Adam, was a exciting and vibrant event to ring in the new year. With music, dancing, and celebratory drinks, residents welcomed the year ahead with joy, laughter, and plenty of good cheer.
